Plaster bandage is used to protect and hold broken and damaged joints and bones. The broken and damaged limb is held in place with a cast, fixed, and immobile so that the bone can heal in place and heal completely.
It is better to use bandage for plastering. Plaster holds the broken bone in place to weld properly. Plastering also prevents or reduces muscle contractions. Plastering is an effective way to stabilize and immobilize, especially after surgery.
Gypsum bandage rings or strips consist of a coating dressing. The specialist moistens the plaster bandage and wraps it around the patient’s arm, although a cotton swab is usually wrapped under it. It should be noted that plastered limbs can be photographed because they do not prevent the bones from being seen on radiography.

Take care of broken plaster
After casting, you should take care of it carefully for a few days to pass the recovery period without any problems.
Keep the plaster dry: It dampens the plaster and soaks the cotton pad, which eventually irritates the skin. Cover the plaster with two layers of plastic or waterproof protection when bathing to prevent it from getting wet. Even after covering the plaster, you should not soak it in running water, because if there is a small hole in the cover, the wound will get wet.
